Mr. Haitham Al Traif
Assistant Minister of Finance for Financial Affairs
Mr. Haitham bin Abdurahman Al Tarif serves as the Undersecretary of Finance for Financial Affairs. His responsibilities encompass overseeing the Financial Affairs Sector within the Ministry of Finance, including the implementation and management of the state’s general budget, the management of public revenues, financial affairs, and accounts, in addition to supervising the development of financial skills for human cadres in government agencies.
Mr. Al Tarif possesses extensive experience in business management spanning over 20 years, having led numerous organizations in both the public and private sectors. His expertise lies in strategic transformation, operational excellence, and human capacity empowerment.
He previously held the position of Undersecretary for the General Budget for over four years, where he worked on preparing, implementing, and managing the state’s general budget. Prior to that, he held numerous executive positions in the field of budget policies and governance, in addition to representing the Ministry of Finance in a number of councils, committees, and programs to achieve Saudi Vision 2030.
Academically, Mr. Al Tarif holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Liverpool, a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Technology from King Saud University, and an Executive Management Program from Harvard University.
