Dr. Nahar Al Azemi, Secretary General of Saudi Health Council, more than 25 years’ experience in hospital operations and clinical practice. He is a Family Physician since 1999 AD. Gained MBBS at King Saud University and later achieved a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration (EMHA) from Washington University, St. Louis, USA. Saudi Board in Family Medicine (SBFM) as well as the Arab Board in Family Medicine (ABFM). As a former Assistant Deputy Minister for Hospital Affairs at the Ministry of Health, KSA, broad perspective on healthcare including healthcare strategy, planning, commissioning and operations. Served in several leadership roles. The Founding CEO of Prince Mohammed Medical City (PMMC), a major healthcare project in the Northern region. Played a leading role in the commissioning and operation of King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) in Riyadh where later became Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Executive Director of Academic & Training Affairs and Continuous Professional Education. also served on the Board of Directors of the Medical Cities and Specialized Hospitals, under the chairmanship of H.E. Minister of Health. 3 years’ experience in the Private sector as the First Chief Medical Officer of Aldara Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC).
